Lindsey in Haiti

I've been to Zambia with Lindsey Reece-Smith on two occasions . She was fantastic - never tired of my ridiculous questions or our preoccupation with "what's for dinner?". Especially that first trip - first time in Africa - she helped me to begin to process how we (in the UK) can respond to, and have  an ongoing relationship with our sisters and brothers in Zambia. It's a world away - and yet it's a day's travel away. The women live such very different lives - and yet we connected in so many ways, both deep and frivolous. Walking into a mud hut in the village to see a dressing table with a mirror and lipstick; shoes and hats displayed spoke volumes to me about how women are the SAME the world over! Lindsey really helped me to process the intense experiences. Lindsey is part of our church community at Kerith, and she is living and working in Haiti for the next two months. She is a fantastic woman - she is so very capable, and so if anyone will cope with li

Mamma Mia!

Look out for me at Church today as I'll be handing out flyers and selling tickets for our next big Unique event ! On Saturday 6th March between 4 and 7pm we'll be watching the singalong version of the film Mamma Mia on the big screens in the Kerith Centre. Tickets cost £3 to cover the refreshments (more details soon, but we're going to give you a true going-to-the-pictures type experience!) It's a purely FUN event - time for FRIENDSHIP and LAUGHTER and just enjoying time spent together. It's the perfect thing to invite other women to - and as we're ending at 7, why not arrange to eat together afterwards? Organise a few friends for a curry or Italian or (inspired by the film) Greek...or coffees, or drinks or whatever!!! We'll have a special guest coming along...and we'll be releasing the first details about the Unique Conference "Real" taking place on 3rd July - why not plan to be amongst the first to buy your conference ticket at the Mamma

Karena

Last night we received the very sad news that our dear, funny, crazy, beautiful friend Karena had died at 8pm. Craig has been sharing these last few weeks and days with us through his blog, so take a look at  Craig's blog  for more information, or to leave a comment. Please pray for Craig and the children and Karena's family - that they would know the comfort of God's arms around them "The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms." Deut 33:27 Karena both lived and died full of strong faith. No guilt in life, no fear in death This is the power of Christ in me From life's first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny No power of hell, no scheme of man, Can ever pluck me from His hand Till He returns or calls me home Here in the power of Christ I'll stand (In Christ Alone)

Captivating

Coming very soon ... a new, 10 week course for women based on the book Captivating , by John and Stasi Eldredge. Wednesday evenings from 21st April in the Kerith Centre. The earlybird cost is £20 if you book before 20th March , rising to £25 from 21st March. Places are limited to 50 so book soon!  Each evening will start with refreshments. We will be watching a DVD of Satsi and her friends as they discuss the topics in the book Captivating. A 20-30 minute quiet time is built into the evening where each woman will have the opportunity to spend time alone with God. I'm delighted to tell you that the course is led by Val and Heather, two godly, caring and passionate women. They are so excited to be able to bring this course to the women of Kerith, saying: "All we can say is that this course had so much impact on us that, although we are not “upfront” people we feel so compelled to facilitate this course so that other women can delight in the assurance of God’s unending love
