Nothing's Going to Hold Me Back!

I Love singing and declaring the TRUTH in this Tim Hughes song Holding Nothing Back I am chosen, I am free I am Living for eternity Free now forever You picked me up, turned me around You set my feet on solid ground Yours now forever And nothing's gonna hold me back Nothing's gonna hold me back Nothing's gonna hold me back My chains fell off My heart was free I'm alive to live for you I'm alive to live for you Amazing Love, how can it be? You give everything for me You give everything for me Everything You washed my sin and shame away The slate is clean: a brand new day, Free now forever Now boldly I approach your throne To claim this crown through Christ my own Yours now forever And nothing's gonna hold me back Nothing's gonna hold me back Nothing's gonna hold me back My chains fell off My heart was free I'm alive to live for you I'm alive to live for you Amazing Love, how can it be? You give everything for me You give everything for me I

Facts Are Friends

This last week I've tried a few new things. It's good (and scary) to do new things. I walked into a new Pilates class - who is the teacher? Where do I lay my mat? Oh , everyone else knew to bring a towel to lay over the mat...I'm happy with just the mat! No-one says hello, no-one tells you how the session's going to go. Quite funny - and really great to remember those feelings and take the lessons learned into what we do at Kerith! I texted in, to a radio programme . I prayed for someone, straight away , right there in the park (rather than promising to pray later) Today's new thing was the " Assessment session" at the Gym (the one we joined last week...paid the money and then left for the coffee shop!) Today I was measured, weighed and assessed.  Yes, you know how I felt.  I wasn't looking forward to it.   My body fat percentage was measured - no way I'm sharing that info here! But as the very kind man from the Gym said "It's

3 Words of Wisdom

Today we joined the local Gym...and celebrated by going to Starbucks for cappuccino and cake (yes, really) Prior to the momentous "joining",  I turned the house, each drawer and every one of my bags out, searching for my Edge card. Eventually found it after we returned (it always happens like that doesn't it?!). I find It really frustrating when I cant find things, and become totally "on a mission" about finding the lost item! However, I did make a great discovery in one of the bags - as well as 50p, a lost lipstick and a few paperclips, I'd printed out a few lines from a blog earlier in the year, and kept it in my work bag. Such wise words, I'm going to pass them on! 3 Words of Wisdom: Based on Proverbs 18:21- The tongue has the power of life and death , and those who love it will eat its fruit. Words can create or destroy, they can build-up or tear-down. 1. Guard your heart against toxic words (Prov 4:23). We can’t control what other people sa

Great Weapons

I'm so glad that my recent blogs about Speaking Truth Out Loud have been so helpful to people. Thanks for your encouragements. It's so good to know we're not alone. It's so good to be in community. Here's some great verses a friend sent me this week - as she said "They were so helpful to me when I was being ambushed with fears and negativity a few weeks ago. They are the phrases from 2 Samuel 22 which I read over and over and used to fight . Great weapons". The Lord is my Rock The torrents of destruction overwhelmed me In my distress I called to the Lord My cry came to his ears He reached down from on high He rescued me from .. my foes who were too strong for me He rescued me because he delighted in me The Lord turns my darkness into light He enables me to stand on the heights He trains my hands for battle You give me my shield of victory I pursued my enemies and crushed them You armed me with strength for battle From violent m

Truth Sets You Free

Ephesians 6:10-20    The Armour of God 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armour of God,so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God .   Need a swo

Feelings Aren't Facts

"When you think healthy thoughts, not only do you improve your health, but you also impact the health of those around you" "What we choose to think about and how we act on those thoughts and feelings has a massive impact on the quality of our lives " Dr Caroline Leaf  (who researches the human brain!) "You shouldn't believe everything you tell yourself. Feelings aren't facts" Rick Warren "Don't let someone else's opinion of you become your reality" Nicky Gumbel I read all these inspirational thoughts from other Christians on Twitter...and thanked God for them , because they encouraged, helped and challenged me especially in my thought patterns. S ometimes we just need to speak out truth. To speak it out loud to ourselves. To speak it out so that we start to believe it, so that the truth overwhelms the doubts and fears. I had a hard day last week. A day where I felt full of fear. I chose to say out loud the promise
