Love is on the way

Well, another fantastic day as we gathered as Church.
Simon started the day with a phone interview for Radio Berkshire. He was great - talking about all that we are able to do to bless the local community. Then the two morning meetings were wonderful as Amanda and the team so briliantly led us to worship Jesus in the midst of our pain and perhaps confusion. What she said about not allowing fear to creep in to our everyday lives - especially fear for our children, was so right.
Simon talked about heaven. It's true isn't it, that we probably have all sorts of mixed-up theology regarding heaven and what happens when we die. If you weren't there, then do listen to it online. He is so great - my very favourite preacher and I'm so proud of him!

Last night Canon Andrew White spoke to us about "walking through the valley of the shadow of death". It was a fantastic evening, with great responses for prayer. He even had (and used!) a bottle of anointing oil that had belonged to Smith Wigglesworth!
Andrew is a large man with a large presence - and a very gentle and calming manner. He spoke with such tenderness and understanding about loss and death. As he spoke, the Holy Spirit reminded me of this verse in Jude.

"I, Jude, am a slave to Jesus Christ and brother to James, writing to those loved by God the Father, called and kept safe by Jesus Christ. Relax, everything's going to be all right; rest, everything's coming together; open your hearts, love is on the way! " (Message)

Let's keep praying for Bill and Anne.
Let's keep worshipping the God who loves us, calls us and keeps us safe.

I Have Decided To Follow Jesus, No Turning Back

I have decided to follow Jesus...no turning back.Take a listen to this beautiful song from Hillsong - every time I hear these words and sing along it changes my perspective, turns me around, gets my focus off me and onto Jesus - "Christ Is Enough For Me". ...No turning back, I've been set free...Christ is enough for me.

Discover your Worth, your Strength, your Purpose

Following a successful Kerith launch in the Spring, Sarah Farley and her team are ready to go again, leading their 2nd SHINE course.
SHINE is an eight week self esteem course for women. The evenings are a mixture of Talks and discussion time, with a practical approach to learning. It's a really encouraging environment, and the evenings are a lot of fun. The course starts this Tuesday evening, and there are still some spaces available. Here's your personal invite from Sarah!Shine is about to run again and I'm excited to see what God is going to do this time round. If you haven't already heard, Shine is a course designed for women who want to live their life in abundance, the way God designed them to live it. To recognise all their worth, to grow in self-esteem, to see all their strengths and positives and ultimately live a life of purpose. We've still got a few places left so if you're interested there's more information here on the Kerith website, where you can…

Not the Summer I'd Planned

"Life's detours means  God wants you to run right into His arms  so He can reconstruct your heart"  Ann Voskamp
Well, let's just say that it's not been the summer I thought I was going to have!!!
I'm so grateful we had our relaxing holiday in the sunshine
I'm so grateful it's summer time, and therefore not so many work commitments
I'm so grateful for my family being around
I'm so grateful for a wonderful and kind church family

If I was going to have an accident ...to slip over on the back door mat....in my wedges...feeding the dogs.. and dislocate and fracture my ankle...then I'm so glad I was at home with family around and with access to swift expert medical help.

The accident was so sudden and it was immediately obvious that I couldn't sort it on my own! I'm pretty squeamish so I'll save you the details, but the angle of my foot prompted me to say out loud "I've just done something really bad".

Funny isn't it, when yo…
